Nvidia Tech Talk

Information Session | August 30 | 5:30-8 p.m. | Soda Hall, Wozniak Lounge (430)

Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS)

Come join us and explore the future of AI computing in engaging, informative tech talks with experts who are creating new realities with AI. One lucky winner will even walk with an NVIDIA product!

Scott Ricketts (Manager, TensorRT)

Scott will provide an overview on TensorRT, the technology, and also give some insight about what it’s like to work on the multidisciplinary TensorRT software engineering team.

Bio: Scott Ricketts is a manager on the TensorRT team at NVIDIA. Before NVIDIA, he studied computer architecture at UC San Diego. His first role at NVIDIA was as a GPU architect, where he helped design the Pascal architecture, focusing primarily on optimizing the launch latency of compute kernels on the GPU. His current team focuses on the performance of the TensorRT engine and on influencing future GPU architecture designs for inferencing applications.

Austin Jiao (Senior Physical Design Engineer)

Austin will touch on such topics as maze-solving for signal distribution, recurrent neural nets for anomaly detection, and convolutional ones for violation checking — making GPUs make GPUs.

Bio: Austin graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor's in Nanotechnology Engineering in 2014. After a successful internship on the physical design team at NVIDIA, he subsequently received a job offer and has been with NVIDIA ever since.
