We explain how to use microlocal methods in order to show Fried's conjecture relating torsion and Ruelle zeta function in dimension 3 and some cases in dimension 5. In higher dimensions we show that the value of the Ruelle zeta function at 0 is a local invariant of the connection (thus independent of the Anosov flow) under certain spectral assumptions, providing new insights toward Fried’s conjecture.
