Workshop | December 6 | 9 a.m.-12 p.m. | 370 Dwinelle Hall
Join Bay Area history educators for the second of three community conversations about history teaching. UCBHSSP will introduce models for assessing student learning in a history classroom.
How can we expand beyond multiple choice responses, short answer questions and the five paragraph essay? What other ways are there to assess learning in the H-SS classroom? Building on the foundation of historical thinking, we will share prototypes for assessment that can assess student understanding of how history works - historical significance, continuity and change, cause and consequence, perspective, and sourcing. For resources on reinforcing historical thinking through instruction, explore some of our Making History materials.
This event is directed at educators.
