A talk by Dr. Solomon Darwin, the Executive Director of the
Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation at the Haas School of Business on his current research on Smart Villages and working with the government of India.
Solomon Darwin is a professor at the Haas School of Business at the University of California - Berkeley, where he serves as the Executive Director of the Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation.
Prior to joining UC Berkeley he was an Associate Professor at the University of Southern California from 1996 2005 . He received his B.A. degree from San Francisco State University, his MBA from Golden Gate University, his MCCP from Harvard University, Graduate School of Business.
Professor Solomon Darwin comes with broad leadership experience in Corporate Management & Academia. He is an international speaker at many business conferences and has been recognized by his peers and students with numerous awards for his innovative leadership, teaching and curriculum development. At UC Berkeley, he teaches courses in Open Innovation, Business Model Innovation and Open Innovation in Emerging Economies. He also teaches in Executive Education Programs and serves as the faculty director of the International CEO program. As a center director, he moderates key annual International Conferences, Innovation Forums. He chairs the quarterly Deans CFO and Chief Innovation Office Round Tables.
More recently, Darwin is currently working on the topic of the sustainability of Earth's diminishing resources, where he introduces the Balance Sheet of the Earth. This project offers a complete picture of the Earth and its assets by using the accounting concept of a balance sheet. Its mission is to obtain a global consensus and peoples opinion and thoughts on how to better improve the Balance Sheet of the Earth.
