The Nuclear Tipping Point

Conference/Symposium | October 14 | 4-6 p.m. | Sutardja Dai Hall, Banatao Auditorium

Institute of International Studies, Institute of Governmental Studies

We will screen the film Nuclear Tipping Point, a conversation with four men intimately involved in American diplomacy and national security over the last four decades: former Secretary of State George Shultz, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, former Secretary of Defense William Perry, and former Senator Sam Nunn. Secretary Perry will attend and take questions from the audience after the screening.

William J. Perry was the 19th U.S. Secretary of Defense, serving from 1994 to 1997. He also served as Deputy Secretary of Defense (1993–94) and Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (1977–81). Currently, Secretary Perry is a Professor at Stanford University and Co-Director of the Preventative Defense Project, a research collaboration between Stanford and Harvard universities.
