The Institute for South Asia Studies (ISAS) at UC Berkeley in collaboration with EnActe Arts and Noorani Dance is proud to present "LOVE ON THE LINE," a theatrical production in which the loss of love, both human and idealogical, is explored through real, lived survivor stories of those who crossed the line of Partition in 1947.

A provocative and compelling performance woven from innumerable true life accounts blending theatre, dance, music and multimedia.

A retrospective lens into the greatest mass displacement in human history.

On the 70th anniversary of the Partition, EnActe Arts and Noorani Dance brings you, through dance, music and storytelling, the true life stories of the people who lived through the Partition of Greater India into India, Pakistan and subsequently Bangladesh.

The Parting is inspired by true stories from witnesses of the 1947 Partition of India and Pakistan and the stories are recounted through the integration of theatre, dance, music, narratives and an audio-visual context of the Partition. This performance is a chance to reflect on this pivotal and tragic time in the history of South Asia, and provoke dialogue across generations, borders, genders, ethnicities and religions.

A multi sensory presentation performed through theater, dance, music and visual design, The Parting will premiere in San Jose at the Hammer Theatre, San Jose CA (Mar. 23 – 24th, 2018 8pm). DETAILS HERE

It is all thanks to her and her team that we have this fantastic opportunity of bringing this play to campus.
