United Nations Day 2012 Celebration at International House: Preventable Childhood Diseases and Mortality: Progressing Toward Alleviation?

Join us for this annual celebration and awards banquet organized by the UN Association-USA East Bay and co-sponsored by International House, UC Berkeley.

The program will feature keynote speakers Susan Bissell, UNICEF Director, Childhood Protection Global Programs and
Chris Helfrich, UN Foundation, Director, Nothing But Nets to combat malaria.

The 7th Annual Global Citizen Awards for accomplishments to fulfill the UN Millennium Development Goal: Reducing Childhood Diseases and Mortality will be conferred.

The UN Association East Bay is one of 135 chapters nationwide dedicated to building understanding of and support for the ideals and vital work of the UN among the communities of Alameda and Contra Costa County. Our education, policy and advocacy programs emphasize the importance of cooperation among nations and the need for American leadership at the UN. Our educational and advocacy programs strive to engage our communities and develop international leadership skills among youth with a passion for making the world a better place.
