Seminar | April 23 | 4-6 p.m. | 202 Barrows Hall

Professor Qi Gubo, College of Humanities and Development Studies, China Agricultural University

Center for African Studies, Center for Chinese Studies (CCS)

The newly established China Agency for International Development Cooperation (CAIDC) represents a milestone in Chinese diplomacy and foreign aid, especially in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. Prof. Qi, one of the pioneers who initiated China's development studies on Sino-African cooperation, will discuss the implications of the new agency for understanding China's strategy for international development. She will also compare China's approach to development aid to traditional donor countries.
