Graphical Exploratory Data Analysis for Archaeologists using R

Workshop: ARF Special & Workshops | May 2 | 12-3 p.m. | 101 2251 College (Archaeological Research Facility)

Alan Farahani, Ancient History & Mediterranean Archaeology, UC Berkeley

Archaeological Research Facility

This workshop focuses on creating graphs, charts, and illustrations using R for archaeological applications and interpretation. R is a powerful and free statistical package supported by an active development community. Archaeological data sets are often large and contain a mixture of continuous and categorical data. In this workshop, we will utilize several R libraries to use exploratory, and some inferential, methods of reducing this complexity and identifying potential trends. Participants are encouraged to bring data-sets with which they are working on currently and wish to explore graphically.

Free for ARF-affiliated researchers and students, $25 for other students, and $50 for non-affiliated community members. Make reservations by emailing arf_labs@berkeley.edu.
