Design Field Notes: Euiyoung Kim

Seminar | September 2 | 11 a.m.-12 p.m. | 220 Jacobs Hall

 Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation

About Design Field Notes:
Each informal talk in this pop-up series brings a design practitioner to a Jacobs Hall teaching studio to share ideas, projects, and practices.

About this talk:
Euiyoung Kim, postdoctoral design fellow at the Jacobs Institute, will speak on "design roadmapping." He says, "With increasing uncertainty, rapid change, and complexity in market environments, companies are finding that they can no longer differentiate their products and services by relying on traditional roadmapping processes that focus solely on technologies and product features. Rather, strategies that revolve around the holistic experience provided by a product or service are more likely to be successful." In this talk, he'll introduce a design roadmapping framework for product planning in today's more user-centered marketplace, drawing from a case study in showing how firms might weigh choices between user needs, design principles, and technological innovation.
