Yamato: The Drummers of Japan

From Nara Prefecture in Japan, the Yamato Drummers visit with their newest production, a performance that celebrates the passion and energy of traditional Japanese drumming. With their spiky neon hairstyles and psychedelic punk-meets-samurai costumes, the youthful drummers perform with infectious spirit and masterful coordination on massive drums built from ancient tree trunks.

Kei Miller is a Forward Prize-winning Jamaican poet, novelist, and essayist whose work explores cartography, power, and religion, amongst much else.
