The film follows renowned and controversial Israeli criminal and human rights defender Lea Tsemel, known for representing Palestinians and human rights NGOs in politically charged cases. The film is compelling, appreciative, funny, critical, and is also a cautionary tale. It continues the invigorating debate about defending human rights in the legal system and its limits, Israel and Palestine, and the pursuit of justice.

Advocate has been premiered in the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and already received 5 awards in film festivals across the world, from Russia to Greece to Hong Kong.
