The Pushouts: Documentaries at Doe

In telling the story of Victor Rios’s journey from an impoverished childhood in East Oakland to tenured professorship at UC Santa Barbara, this film explores the school-to-prison pipeline and the important role of mentors and community in the lives of young people. (Film runs 55 minutes and will be followed by a short discussion.)
