Dr. Howard Kipen: Problems with fixing your indoor air quality - Is CO2 more than a greenhouse gas?

Seminar | October 25 | 1-2 p.m. | 5101 Berkeley Way West

Howard Kipen, MD, MPH, Rutgers School of Public Health

Environmental Health Sciences Division, Center for Occupational & Environmental Health

Dr. Howard Kipen will summarize health effects attributed to indoor air pollution and how indoor doses of some regulated outdoor pollutants (particularly PM) may exceed outdoor doses. The talk will then consider efficacy and effectiveness of indoor interventions to lower pollutant levels in the developed world. Finally, because elevated levels of indoor carbon dioxide are often a problem related to such interventions, surprising new data on carbon dioxide toxicity will be discussed.
