From Okinawa, Japan - hear the story of a former U.S. Marine who joined Okinawan residents protesting in opposition to the construction of U.S. bases on their island. The documentary reveals the structural violence of the military that afflict both military personnel and local people in Okinawa.

We live in a critical moment as the federal budget calls for an unprecedented $54 billion increase in military spending. This movie calls on us to demand our government to not to support war and its destructive consequences on the environment and lives of Okinawans.

The film will be followed by a Q&A and discussion about the current situation in Okinawa with director Hanayo Oya, led by EarthGathering members and UC Berkeley students from the Nikkei Student Union. This screening will provide English subtitles.

We are grateful for your support, and we thank you in advance for standing in solidarity with Okinawa.
