The historic Kirov Ballet of the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg—one of the world's towering artistic institutions—was founded in 1783 and is closely identified with the legacy of classical Russian ballet. Throughout the centuries, the company has maintained an almost impossibly high set of standards, always showcasing the world's greatest dancers, including such legendary performers as Anna Pavlova, Vaslav Nijinksy, Rudolf Nureyev, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Natalia Makarova, and many more. This extraordinary company returns to Cal Performances with performances of the most famous comic ballet in the 19th-century Russian repertory, Don Quixote, and a thrilling program of mixed repertory featuring the best of three classic ballets, performed by such Kirov stars as Diana Vishneva, Uliana Lopatkina, Leonid Sarafanov, Alina Somova, Andrian Fadeev, and Victoria Tereshkina.

Tickets required: $50/$75/$100/$125 Available through the Cal Performances Ticket Office at Zellerbach Hall; at (510) 642-9988 to charge by phone; online at www.calperformances.org; and at the door.,  **Rush tickets: UCB students, $10; UCB faculty and staff (UCB ID required) and seniors age 65 or older, $15; all other community members, $20. Sales are limited to one ticket per person; all sales are cash only. Rush tickets are announced two hours prior to a performance and are available in person only at the Ticket Office beginning 1 hour before the performance; quantities may be limited.
