TDPS Auditions for Berkeley Dance Project

Performing Arts - Dance | September 11 | 6:30-9 p.m. |  Bancroft Studio (2401 Bancroft)

Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies

The UC Berkeley Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies will hold open auditions for its Spring 2020 dance concert, Berkeley Dance Project. Auditions are open to all current UC Berkeley students, and advance registration is not required. Performances will take place Feb. 20–22 and Feb. 27–29, 2020.

Audition Requirements:

All choreographers are looking for dancers who are comfortable with dynamic and expressive movement. Auditioners may be asked to use their voices (making simple statements and sounds, often as a group rather than individually). Dancers are expected to perform a variety of movement phrases (demonstrated by each choreographer) in small and large groups during the audition process. TDPS Majors/Minors and non-Majors/Minors are encouraged to attend. Auditioners are expected to be warm and ready to move once the audition begins. They do not need to prepare material, however they should expect to stay for the entire duration of the audition.

Please read the TDPS Casting Policy, Participant Rights & Responsibilities, and production time commitments on the TDPS Callboard.
