Inflection, or a point of change, indicates a state of flux and an imminent shift to come. TEDxBerkeley 2019 centers around the rapid changes that characterize the political, social, and technological realms of our contemporary society. As citizens of the most unique period of human history, we are surrounded by transformations across both physical and ideological landscapes. While recent advances have the potential to improve quality of life at an unprecedented rate, they are inevitably coupled with challenges that raise questions about mankind’s capacity for progress.

At TEDxBerkeley 2019, we hope to explore stories of those past and present, learn about recent innovative breakthroughs, and experience the sheer impact of human creativity. By fostering dialogue among individuals with unique perspectives and backgrounds, we will spark critical engagement about the multifaceted nature of our modern age. Join us to reflect on this point of inflection and your role as a catalyst for progress as humanity delves into uncharted frontiers.

UC Berkeley Statistics Professor Fernando Perez is scheduled to speak in the first session of the event from 10am-12pm.
