Workshop | October 23 | 1-2:15 p.m. | 177 Stanley Hall

 Rosanne Lurie, QB3-Berkeley

QB3 - California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences

Sometimes the word “networking” seems loaded – this workshop, led by Rosanne Lurie, Director, QB3-Berkeley Graduate and Postdoc Career Development will help you get around the myths and fears, and learn the real value of connecting with others. Identify ways that networking can help you in career exploration, career planning, and your job search. We will discuss techniques for talking clearly about your research to different audiences, how to approach someone you don’t know (and why you might do so), and how to stay in touch. Get specific tips for networking in person and online!

This event is part of the Building Career Skills Series -- Tuesdays & Thursdays in October/November 2018 -- workshops and panel events designed to help QB3-Berkeley doctoral students and postdocs develop their competencies in career planning and effective job search strategies.
