Empirical approaches to intersectionality traditionally attempt to shoehorn intersectionality as a “testable explanation” into standard positivistic methodologies. But is this the most appropriate way to incorporate intersectionality? Using fs(QCA), Dr. Ange-Marie Hancock Alfaro illustrates an alternative approach to empirically operationalizing intersectionality as a research paradigm instead of a testable explanation.
