Ndola Prata, i4Y (Innovations for Youth)
About the presenter: Ndola Prata, MD, MSc is Director of the Bixby Center for Population, Health & Sustainability, a Professor in Residence in Maternal and Child Health and the Fred H. Bixby Endowed Chair in Population and Family Planning in the School of Public Health at UC Berkeley. She is a physician and medical demographer from Angola. Her research focuses on the design, implementation, and evaluation of maternal, sexual and reproductive health interventions in order to increase access to care, contraceptives and abortion, particularly for underserved populations in developing countries. She also serves as co-Director for Innovations for Youth (i4Y) and as co-Director for the UC Global Health Institute Center of Expertise on Womens Health, Gender & Empowerment (WHG&E). She leads research and programs for youth that seek to understand how interventions influence adolescent girls outcomes and to empower girls to make healthy choices.
