TDPS Auditions for Student-Directed Workshops

The Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies will hold open auditions for its Fall 2019 student-directed workshop performances of Romeo and Juliet, Pinwheels, and FABLE. Auditions are open to all currently enrolled UC Berkeley students.

TDPS Auditions for Berkeley Dance Project

The UC Berkeley Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies will hold open auditions for its Spring 2020 dance concert, Berkeley Dance Project. Auditions are open to all current UC Berkeley students, and advance registration is not required. Performances will take place Feb. 20–22 and Feb. 27–29, 2020.

Vince Medina and Louis Trevino, co-founders of mak-'amham, will lead the preparation of traditional Ohlone foods from fruits, spices, nuts, herbs, teas, and other selected items gathered in their indigenous homelands of the East Bay and the Carmel Valley.

Exploration of Forms: Afro-Pop Dance Workshop

This free workshop will start with an introduction of African Popular dance; the roots of the dance and its current space. The names and meaning of movements, and the socio-political and economic relevance to it communities will also be addressed. We will then practice some Afro-Pop movements like Azonto, Shorkie, Amanda, Gwara gwara, Kupe, Gweta, Shoo, etc.
