A Glimpse at the Vulnerable Population’s Access to Sexual Health Service in China

Rebekah Gong is one of the Bixby summer 2019 fellowship recipients. She did her residency at “You and Me”
sexual reproductive health centers in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China, serving vulnerable population including
sex workers. In this presentation she will share her observations on the issue of sex workers’ limited access to
sexual health services, the needs and obstacles of the disabled population accessing sexual health services,
and the overall experience of working with “You and Me” in China. Her perspective is particularly revealing as
sex has long been a taboo topic of conversation in Chinese culture.
