MENA Salon: Iran, Israel and the US

Workshop | September 13 | 3-4 p.m. | 340 Stephens Hall

 Center for Middle Eastern Studies

Every Friday the CMES hosts an informal guided discussion of current events in the Middle East and North Africa, open to all.

In recent months, tensions between the US and Iran have escalated. The US has imposed new economic sanctions, while Iran has announced that it will deliberately violate aspects of the previously agreed upon nuclear deal. These tensions are linked, as recent news reports have shown, to the US’s relationship with Israel, and to the conflict between Israel and Iran. How do these three parties relate to one another, and how do their foreign policy decisions relate to domestic issues within each country? We will discuss these ongoing issues in this week’s salon.
