Our research uncovers the behavior of organ stem cells in young versus aged tissues: muscle, brain, liver, skin, etc., with the goal to identify common age-imposed alterations that are responsible for pathological changes. The clinical value of this research is in treating a number of age-associated degenerative and metabolic diseases as a class through engineered “youthful” modification of key molecular factors (for example, by applying blood apheresis technology to a NextGen system that calibrates the systemic milieu to health-youth, and by novel defined pharmacology that is developed with the help of bio-orthogonal proteomics and identifies in vivo the “young” pro-regenerative, and the “old” age-elevated inhibitory molecules).
