The Cal Alumni Association (CAA) and the Career Center are hosting an alumni mixer for 3,000 transfer students during Golden Bear Orientation. Help us provide incoming transfer students with their first opportunity to network with alumni and explore various career paths through exposure to a variety of industries and expertise. The first 100 alums to register and attend will be entered into a raffle!
This event requires very little preparation. Alumni volunteers will be organized into networking groups based on their industry expertise. You will simply chat with interested students, share your path from Cal to career, and offer advice to those who hope to follow in your footsteps.

This years class of incoming transfer students includes more than 1,600 first-generation students, more than 100 student veterans, and 600 student parents. Volunteers will be separated into networking groups based on their industry expertise and will have the opportunity to share their background experiences, whether thats as a first-generation student, veteran, parent, and/or transfer re-entry student at Cal. Industry groups include:
