Rudzienko, a town outside Warsaw, Poland, is home to the Youth Center for Socio-Therapy. Lockhart befriended a number of young women living in the group home, and together, over two summers, they collaborated on this film. In a series of carefully composed vignettes, which appear at times like still photographs, the adolescents slow dance, fly a kite, and talk. Their translated dialogue appears in text scrolls between scenes—musings on their lives, their emotions, and their desires.
