DESCRIPTION:Kristin Reed\, Fellowship Director\, Human Rights Center\n\nHuman Rights Fellows receive a stipend of $4\,500 to carry out clearly defined human rights-related fieldwork during summer 2012 with partner organizations in the United States and abroad. Registered students are eligible\, with priority given to graduate and returning students. Fellowship Director Kristin Reed will provide details on how to apply and Human Rights Fellow alumni will share their insights. \n\nInformation sessions will be held on:\n- October 6 at 4pm – 238 University Hall (Public Health & Medicine)\n- October 19 at 11am – 402 Barrows Hall (Social & Environmental Sciences)\n- October 25 at 1pm – 142 North Gate Hall (Journalism & Information)\n- November 8 at 1pm – 10 Boalt Hall (Law & Jurisprudence)\n* Students from all disciplines are welcome to attend any one of these sessions *\n\nAll sessions will cover the same basic information with added emphasis on the subject areas listed. Refer to the Berkeley campus map (http://berkeley.edu/map/) if you are unfamiliar with any of the locations.\n\nApplications for the Human Rights Fellowship are due February 23\, 2012. \n\nApplicants are encouraged to:\n- Attend one of the information sessions before applying for the 2012 Fellowship\;\n- Learn about the 2011 Fellows’ research at the Human Rights Conference in the Home Room of the International House on November 3 from 10am-5pm\; and\n- Download the fellowship application\, review the sample statement of purpose\, and read the FAQs on the Human Rights Center website at: http://www.law.berkeley.edu/HRCweb/fellowships.html
