About the Talk:

Drawing from examples from a career in regulated industries like operational healthcare, finance and government, this talk will focus on how controls, discipline, and boundaries in tech aren't just good for privacy and security - they can actually help us move fast.

About the Speaker:

Ms. Williams is a Senior technical program manager at Facebook working on a myriad of interesting engineering projects related to data protection. Formerly the compliance and regulatory operations lead for Google’s Health AI org, she also Served as the Head of the US Delegation to the International Standards Organization (ISO) for Artificial Standards. Prior to coming to Silicon Valley, Ms. Williams was the Chief Compliance and Chief Privacy Officer at a two large Integrated Health Delivery companies and worked as a Big 4 privacy & security risk consultant for cross-industry big tech clients. A startup founder and PM/lead engineer designing crypto systems for the US Dept of Defense rounds out a diverse career. Ms. Williams graduated with highest distinction from Carnegie Mellon University earning a Masters in Information Security Policy and Management. She is a frequent speaker on the topic of data sharing in healthcare, women in technology, and the importance of AI standards.
