This panel discussion will explore aspects of Indigenous culture, landscape, language, and sovereignty before colonization, through the historic period and the present day, and going forward into the future. The complexity, vibrancy, and continued vitality of basketry and other fine arts, ceremonies and songs, foodways, landscape and resource management, languages, and material culture of Indigenous Bay Area communities will be discussed and celebrated by a panel of distinguished Native scholars, activists, and practitioners.
