This course focuses on the utilization of the embedded Microsoft Excel Query Editor to connect to multiple data sources in order to extract, manipulate, or compare datasets. Query results are loaded to the host Excel application to leverage other business intelligence features.
Identify the elements of the Microsoft Excel Query Editor.
Connect the Query Editor to local and external data tables.
Define general query properties.
Transform data sets to alter table and field structures, record values, and perform operations on numeric, text, and date data types.
Perform grouping and totaling operations.
Create standard and user-defined calculated columns.
Design modular queries using data set dependencies, unionization append operations, and dataset merge comparisons.
Load query results to the Excel host application.
Preview raw query syntax using the Advanced Editor.
