Writing a Research Proposal: Workshop B

Workshop | November 19 | 5-6:30 p.m. | 344 Campbell Hall

Leah Carroll, Haas Scholars Program

Robert & Colleen Haas Scholars Program, Office of Undergraduate Research

This workshop will cover the basics of writing a research proposal for students in all disciplines. Topics to be covered include:

* defining your research question;
* developing a project plan;
* presenting your qualifications;
* creating a budget.

You should attend this workshop if you are an undergraduate at UC Berkeley who is considering any or all of the following options:

* writing a senior honors thesis;
* applying for research funding from the Robert & Colleen Haas Scholars Program, a travel grant, or any other funding source/fellowship. Refer to Undergraduate Research Homepage for more information on these opportunities.
* applying to graduate school for advanced study in an academic field, as you will probably be writing grant proposals in graduate school;
* pursuing a career in research.

This workshop immediately follows a Stronach Baccalaureate Prize information session, same location.
