This one-day workshop hosted by the Berkeley School of Law will discuss the HIV/AIDS patent pool proposed by UNITAID and will explore how patent pools more broadly can increase innovation and access to therapeutics and diagnostics for neglected diseases. The event will bring together scientists, patient advocates, IP scholars, pharmaceutical and biotech executives, and legal professionals to discuss and evaluate the UNITAID proposal plus other existing and proposed patent pools for global health.
