Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship Informational Workshop for prospective applicants
Information Session | November 29 | 11 a.m.-12 p.m. | 309 Sproul Hall
Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowships provide funding to students to encourage the study of less commonly taught foreign languages in combination with area and international studies. These fellowships are funded by grants from the U.S. Department of Education. The purpose of the FLAS program is to promote the training of students who intend to make their careers in college or university teaching, government service, or other employment where knowledge of foreign languages and cultures is essential. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
The FLAS fellowship competition for Summer 2019 awards and Academic Year 2019-20 awards is now open. Fellowships are available for graduate students, and in some world areas, also for undergraduates.
Application deadline: Wednesday, January 30, 2019.
See the Graduate Division website for the full details and the application link here
