Travel time tomography with partial data

Seminar: Bay Area Microlocal Analysis Seminar | December 7 | 2:30-3:20 p.m. | 891 Evans Hall

Gunther Uhlmann, University of Washington and UC Irvine

Department of Mathematics

The travel time tomography problem consists in determining the anisotropic index of refraction or sound speed of a medium by making travel time measurements. We will survey what is known about this problem including some recent results on the partial data case. The latter are joint work with Andras Vasy.
