Grateful Nation: Student Veterans and the Rise of the Military-Friendly Campus (Duke University Press) traces the college experiences of Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans on California college campuses. Ellen Moore's book findings challenge the popular narrative that explain student veterans' academic difficulties, while showing how these narratives lead to suppression of campus debates about current wars.
