Controlled Burn: How to Design for the Hard Stuff

Nadia Gathers describes their work as process—helping turn the "mushiness" of being a person into discrete, discernible task flow. They have been part of the team at Code2040 where they helped design communications identity; GigHub where they built and sustained distributed teams; as well as consulted on some of the nation's most pressing issues with the ACLU. Gathers teaches design of the self at Standford's D. School, and manages incident communication at Slack.

Gathers' talk is part of our continuing series, Design Field Notes, held on Mondays from 1-2pm at 220 Jacobs Hall. This event is free and welcome to all students and the public.
