Designer Jin Teok discusses her career, the work on view in Couture Korea and her most recent collection in this afternoon conversation with fashion historian Neil Wu-Gibbs. Jin is internationally renowned as the pioneer of contemporary Korean haute couture. Her work has been included in museum exhibitions in London, Paris and Seoul. Wu-Gibbs is an independent curator who contributed to the recent exhibition Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
Neil Wu-Gibbs is an independent curator and fashion historian who focuses on fashion curation and contemporary art in Asia. He was recently a curatorial researcher at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. He provided curatorial assistance for Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology (2016) and Masterworks: Unpacking Fashion (2016), both at the Met.
