The Distinguished Teaching Award is Berkeley's most prestigious honor for teaching. The award recognizes teaching that incites intellectual curiosity in students, engages them thoroughly in the enterprise of learning, and has a lifelong impact. Berkeley will honor the three recipients of the 2014 Distinguished Teaching Award at a public ceremony with a reception to follow at the Alumni House. This year, the Academic Senate’s Committee on Teaching recognizes:

Eugene Chiang, Professor of Astronomy and Earth & Planetary Science
Munis Faruqui, Associate Professor of South & Southeast Asian Studies
