Professor Doug Tygar, EECS, UC Berkeley will serve as Discussion Leader.

A Report on Internet Freedom

In this presentation, we will discuss the current state of Internet access under governments that attempt to restrict and monitor Internet communications, with particular emphasis on China, Iran, and Syria. I'll give a brief overview of the architecture of the "Great Chinese Firewall" and discuss a variety of approaches used to circumvent censorship.
