Children of Srikandi (Indonesia, 2012): Exploring Gender Identities: Films from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore

Made by a collective of Indonesian filmmakers, this film is one of the first to be made about queer women in Indonesia. Eight stories are interwoven with shadow theater scenes that tell the story of Srikandi, one of the characters of the Indian Mahabharata.

It is being presented as part of a mini-film festival showing a selection of feature films and documentaries from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia that look at LGBT issues from different perspectives.
