Professor Rymhs will talk about the art of Kent Monkman, part of her new book-in-progress entitled "Directing Traffic: Roads, Mobility, and Violence in Indigenous Literature and Art."
Bio: Deena Rymhs is associate professor of English at the University of British Columbia where she teaches courses in Indigenous literatures and the environmental humanities. She is author of From the Iron House: Imprisonment in First Nations Literature (2008), and she is completing a second book, Directing Traffic: Roads, Mobility, and Violence in Indigenous Literature and Art.
