Teaching Conference for All First-Time International Graduate Student Instructors (IGSIs)

A campuswide teaching conference held the Thursday and Friday before classes begin. The purpose is to orient graduate students to their GSI role and equip them to begin. *All international first-time GSIs must attend both conference days (August 17 and August 18). To be credited with completion, attendees must participate in the entire conference day.

UCDC Info Session

UCDC is a program which sends UC juniors and seniors to Washington, D.C. to intern, do research, and take classes for a semester. UCDC students come from all majors, intern three to four days a week, and take two classes which each meet once a week. This workshop is an introduction to typesetting math using LaTeX. Attendees will learn how to create various environments for equations and formulas; subscripting and superscripting; Greek letters; and other commonly used syntax for math.
