The talk will draw on several papers. Specifically, the talk will briefly discuss the results of the Oregon experiment (summarized here) and then consider welfare analysis of the results based on two papers:
Finkelstein, Hendren, Luttmer "The Value of Medicaid: Interpreting Results from the Oregon Health Insurance Experiment"
(which you can find here) and
Finkelstein, Hendren, Shepard "Subsidizing Health Insurance for Low Income Adults: Evidence from Massachusetts" (which you can find here).
