Presentation | November 16 | 12:10-1 p.m. | 578 University Hall

Natalie Ingraham, PhD, MPH

Graduate Assembly

Body weight and BMI have become cornerstones of public health perspectives on wellbeing. However, research is increasingly showing the danger and bias inherent in current medical approaches to health and body size. Join medical sociologist Dr. Ingraham as she discusses the impact of weight stigma and fat phobia on individuals seeking healthcare, as well as strategies for healthcare professionals to combat these forces in their work.
