Deryk Van Brunt is President and Chairman of the Healthy Communities Institute and Associate Clinical Professor in the School of Public Health at the University of California at Berkeley. The Healthy Communities Institute provides the leading web-based platform to support hospitals, health systems, local and state health departments and community collaborations with community health improvement strategies. Van Brunt works with many organizations to help them understand the health risks in the communities they serve, meet regulatory requirements, plan best practice interventions and build evaluation plans. Van Brunts recent research is in the areas of (1) chronic care management, and (2) improving population health and environmental sustainability through the use of community-based health information systems.
