Island faunas have inspired evolutionary biologists for centuries and I am especially captivated by the enigmatic history of amphibians on islands. Over the last ten years I have been studying amphibian diversification in the Gulf of Guinea archipelago, a chain of islands off the coast of Central Africa that is composed of one land-bridge island (Bioko) and three oceanic islands (Príncipe, São Tomé, and Annobón). In this talk I integrate genomic, behavioral, ecological and morphological data to investigate the colonization history and diversification of the archipelagos amphibian fauna.
