Professor Dan Kammen is a global thought leader for clean energy and energy access. He is Chair of UC Berkeleys Energy and Resources Group, Director of the Environmental Public Policy Center, and founder of UC Berkeleys Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory. His field research projects are in East Africa, Central America, and on Borneo. Kammen was a coordinating lead author for the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change, World Bank Clean Energy Czar and Science Envoy for the U.S. State Department until he fired himself over disagreements with Trump administration policies.
