-Why is the Garden Closed one day a month?
For the safety of the public and the safety of the collection, the Garden’s Horticultural staff need one day per month to complete jobs that may pose safety risks to visitors, such as dropping tree limbs, renovating paths, or controlling pests.

Distinguished Cal alumni can sign up to mentor current Cal students during Coffee Chats with CASA! This year’s coffee chats will occur monthly on Saturdays at PiQ Bakery, which is located across from the Downtown Berkeley BART Station.

Each coffee chat will take place in a group setting, allowing 2-3 students to speak with 1 alumni for 1 hour.
