Exhibit: Rare Native Plants of California and the Pacific Northwest
Exhibit - Photography | April 18 – 19, 2020 every day | 10 a.m.-4 p.m. | UC Botanical Garden
In celebration of Cal Day and as a part of our "2020: Conservation in Focus" series, the Garden is pleased to present a two-day exhibit in our Julia Morgan Hall featuring the photographic work of the late Norman Jensen, and his rare, native plant photography.
Norm was well known in the Native Plant societies in most of the western states, particularly California, Oregon, Washington, and Utah. Norm was a self-taught botanist/photographer, group leader, lecturer, as well as webmaster for at least three chapters of Native Plant Society groups, and helped discover some long lost and thought extinct native plants. Norm's photos make up a significant number of the CalPhotos database and over 10,000 of his photos have been donated to the Oregon Flora Project.
This exhibit is presented by Norm's brother Allan Jensen, administrator of the Jensen Family Trust and is dedicated to the memory of Watson "Mac" Laetsch, former UC Botanical Garden Director and UC Berkeley Faculty, College of Natural Resources.
Free with Garden Admission (Garden Admission is Free on Cal Day, April 18th)
